Improved home internet speeds now available in NY and PA at no additional cost
Prattsburgh, NY, March 5, 2024 – Empire Fiber Internet, a Northeast fiber-based internet service provider, today announces that it has improved its internet throughput speeds. Empire is offering residential customers a 10x speed bump for uploads.
Base upload and download speeds for residential plans now deliver a minimum of 500 Megabits per second (Mbps). Symmetrical 1 Gigabit speeds are also available. Until now, residential customers were offered a minimum of 500 Mbps/50 Mbps. The improvements are effective as of March 1, for all new and existing residential customers at no additional cost.
Symmetrical speeds offer Empire Fiber Internet’s residential customers, equal upload and download speeds, eliminate speed discrepancies, and create a larger capacity to deliver data more efficiently. Basically, they provide enhanced speed and reliability. Therefore, they are especially beneficial for heavy online users who rely on the internet for working or learning from home. Additionally, gamers and homes with multiple users benefit from symmetrical speeds. For many residential customers in rural areas, symmetrical speeds are a unique experience that other providers had not offered.
