While a typical phone system would be managed by the company using it, a hosted phone system is instead managed by a third-party. This provides a host of opportunities for a business. For one thing, the system is far easier to install. It’s also much more cost effective, as there doesn’t need to be external devices that are typically needed in a phone system. That’s because a hosted phone service relies entirely on an internet connection.

Typically, the hosted phone provider is also the provider of a business’ internet, meaning that the connection is extremely stable. Not only this but being over the internet allows for far greater flexibility in where calls can be hosted. On a hosted phone network, you aren’t restricted to just calling over a phone. Calls can be hosted on a laptop or a desktop on top of typical phones. This also means than such a flexible system can scale as a company grows, far easier than if it was a typical wired system.
